CONSUMER PROTECTION IN THE GAS AND ELECTRICITY MARKETS - Adiconsum Provincial Secretary

following liberalization introduced by the European Union in Italy, all consumers have gained the right to freely choose their energy supplier.
from passive recipients of services, citizens are now active participants in the market: they have the power to change providers when it identifies opportunities for improved conditions of service.
Since the introduction of free market, dozens of companies that produce or sell electricity or natural gas it had to compete with each other.

All offer discounted rates and promises of much lower bills in order to acquire new customers, the result is that more and more often the low amount of bills hidden problems and more trouble-consuming and costly than you would spend in reality.

In this situation, as reported by Vincent Telesca ADICONSUM provincial secretary, is the fact that companies usually use local agents, employees of companies related to the parent company, to enter into various contracts for the supply of which more and more often fail to fully comply with the applicable regulations matter.

Adiconsum remember that provincial consumer protection, the Authority for Electricity and Gas has issued separate code of business conduct and sellers of electricity and natural gas are required to comply.
Codes recalls the Secretary Telesca contain the behavioral rules of fairness and transparency that sellers must apply for promotion of tenders, the conclusion and the contract amendment, in order to ensure Clientis the necessary information, complete and truthful about all aspects of the contract which is proposed to them, or the ability to compare product prices.

In this regard, Adiconsum offers its experience and advice to all consumers in need of assistance and who wish to become fully conscious of the new instruments of protection available to them.
